Lane Bryant is probably one of the top store names that comes to your mind when thinking about a store that sells plus size clothing. Lane Bryant carries a decent array of clothing from casual wear and work wear to intimates and swimwear.
My personal opinion about the website is that it is a little basic yet the color of it (a dark gray background with bright colors for the showcase of current trends and sales) makes it very sophisticated looking.
The overall usage of the website is great and the clothing line is remarkable. Lane Bryant can dress any woman from the bedroom to the boardroom. I recommend Lane Bryant to anyone that is looking to find stylish and in season plus size clothing; however, if and when possible, stay away from the customer service and pray that you don’t need to make returns!

Usability and Speed: The website is very sophisticated in its looks as well as its usability and speed. Smooth and nippy transition from one page to another.
Product Images: The product images are somewhat professional and the products are shown on models that seem a bit energetic. Quick view and zoom capabilities are available for the product images.
Checkout Process: From the product description page, you will select the color and size then add it to your bag. Once you have completed your shopping you can open your shopping bag by clicking the shopping bag tab at the top right corner of the screen. Choose if you are shipping to one address, two or more, or to the store for pick up. You’ll then choose your method of shipping and you can also opt for gift messaging at this time. When done, click checkout, (you can opt to sign in as a returning user or checkout as a guest and create an account if you wish) where you will then be taken to enter your billing information, shipping address(es), gifting and method, order review, payment, and confirmation of your order.

My experience with the customer service is actually from my sister. She ordered a large amount of clothing that totaled $250. She was wanting some of the clothing in time for a special event so she chose the fastest shipping method to ensure she would get it in time. The allotted days went by and still no shipment. She called customer service to see if she could find out what was going on and they said a couple of the items were out of stock so they were unable to ship the order. When purchased, the clothes were in stock and my sister felt like they should have shipped the rest of her order regardless of items being in stock or not. They weren’t very helpful, they didn’t really want to issue a refund for the out of stock items nor did they want to allow her to order something else that was in stock. All in all, they were unsupportive of the whole cause. In my personal opinion, they should have at least called or e-mailed her letting her know that some of her shipment was out of stock.

The return policy at Lane Bryant is not really specified online – unless you are wanting to return items via your local store. There isn’t really a timeline for returned merchandise online and you must contact customer service to get more details about it. However, you can find on the site HOW to return your merchandise but personally doesn’t do much good if you don’t have much information about the policy itself.
You can opt to take online purchased merchandise to the store for a return or exchange, which I found to be very helpful to many customers as many would rather do this and get something immediately rather than wait for a return to be processed through the online store. Remember that the store cannot take items unless the tags are still attached and the garment is unworn and unused.

In addition, ground shipping is a flat rate fee of $7.00 no matter the purchase price total and you’ll receive your item(s) within about 4 to 8 working days. You can opt for express shipping for $13.00 for 3 day delivery, overnight delivery via express shipping for $20.00.
Shipping is to any of the U.S. states including Hawaii and Alaska as well as Puerto Rico, military addresses and other non-continental addresses in the United States; however, Lane Bryant does not ship to Canada or internationally.

Lane Bryant definitely makes up for some of their faults with their fit measurements and sizing charts. There are sizing charts for almost every piece of clothing from panties and bras to activewear and outerwear, shapewear and loungewear to tops and bottoms, and hosiery and belts to dresses and jeans. You will also find some measuring tips as well as images with almost every chart to make sure you are doing it right o get the right measurement of the proper area.
